If you have cable, make sure to cancel the service at your old residence. If you are renting receiver boxes from the cable company, you will be responsible for returning them. Companies usually have drop-off locations around town and some companies will pick them up from your house for a fee. |

| If you have a satellite TV service like DirecTV or Dish Network, you can generally transfer your account from your old residence to your new residence. Some companies offer a moving service where you just leave your previous dish at your old residence and the company will install a dish at your new location for a nominal fee. You generally then bring your old satellite receivers with you to your new residence. Also, consider a service like TiVo or ReplayTV so you will never miss your favorite shows. | |
