Voter Registration

There's no better way to make your new location feel like your community than to register to vote! Registering is a first step to getting yourself informed and involved in local politics and issues (we've found some topics to be great conversation starters at local bars and clubs). It also ensures eligibility in any national election.

Typically, the requirements for registering to vote in the United States are quite simple. You must:

  • US Citizen
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Not a convicted felon
  • Must live in the state that you are registered

That said, we've found that registering to vote can be surprisingly complex in this country--in some states more than others. Fortunately, there are some online resources that can make it easier. Be prepared to submit a document that has your new address on it as "proof" of residency (a copy of your driver's license, a utility bill, a bank statement, etc).
